Meet the Dinner Doctor

Kim Sharphorn

Hello!  I
have been in the food service industry for over 10 years.  I graduated from culinary school in Traverse City, Michigan, and have worked as a chef in fine dining restaurants and several country clubs.  My favorite things to cook: Anything that "wows" the people that are eating it!  I want to "wow" you too!

What I Offer:

As a hired USPCA Personal Chef, I will come to your home and conduct an interview and complete a detailed questionnaire.  Each menu lists entrees and some side dishes for a two week period and is presented to you for your approval prior to your scheduled cooking day.

Where I Will Travel:

I will travel most locations in Muskegon, Kent, or Ottawa counties.

A Variety of Menus:

I have the ability to cook not only to your tastes, but also according to your dietary requirements.  So if you eat a low fat meal and you don't eat red meat, don't worry.  You may want to try the turkey and black bean chili, or maybe you would prefer the lime and cilantro marinated shrimp.  If neither of those entries appeal to you there are many more you can try.  In fact, there are over 300 entrees available, which means you won't see the same meal twice in a 6 month period.

Complete Grocery Shopping

On your scheduled cooking day, I will shop for the groceries needed for the meals on your menu.  I will purchase all of the items needed and the cost of these groceries are incorporated into the charge for the service.

On the shopping trip'  I will select the very freshest and best qualities of meats, vegetables,  and herbs and seasonings.  If fish if available that was flown in on your cooking day, we will select that fish, even if we have to drive to several markets to get the very best!  If possible, we will use produce that was harvested that day.
If herbs are not in season, we will purchase dry herbs and crush them fresh that day.  Of course no frozen meats as we select the most tender cuts fresh the day we cook.  We offer beef, veal, lamb, , pork, turkey, and chicken entrees.
